Opportunity

through education

We have a global education crisis on our hands, but together we can end it. Join our community of monthly givers to build schools and break barriers to education – every single month.

The Issue

There are countless barriers to education, especially for girls, and we know that isolated interventions won’t create the change needed. So, we systematically develop public schools in rural regions of Tanzania and make sure to break every barrier we cross.

260 Million

Children globally are out of school

Of those 260 million, nearly 1/3 of them reside in Sub-Saharan Africa.

5.1 Million

Youth are out of school in Tanzania

Only 4% of girls from rural areas complete lower secondary school.

61 Million

One in every two

African children of primary school age reach adolescence unable to read, write, or do basic math.

The Solution

ASAP partners with motivated rural communities in Tanzania to comprehensively develop rural community  school systems. Together we expand classroom access, improve the quality of education, and provide a safe haven for girls to pursue their studies, offering them a chance at a quality education from pre-primary through secondary level.

What we do & what we supply

Locally Led. All projects and programs are led by Tanzanians!

ASAP prides itself on being a majority-women led organization.

All schools are 100% locally owned & co-invested.

Only when solutions are implemented synergistically and address the holistic needs of youth, can the impact be deep and lasting.

The Impact

We measure success by evaluating enrollment and attendance, student-to-teacher ratios, student-to-faculty ratios, academic performance, teacher performance, completion and matriculation rates, literacy and numeracy, community participation, and more. On all fronts our partner schools are thriving!
