Zach Swett

Executive Director

As Executive Director of the Africa School Assistance Project (ASAP), Zach leads a dedicated team working to expand access to quality education in rural Tanzania. He oversees all aspects of the organization, from fundraising and strategic planning to program delivery, financial management, and partnership development. With more than 15 years of experience living and working in Tanzania, Zach has played a central role in designing and implementing community-driven education initiatives that have transformed schools and empowered thousands of students, especially girls.

Zach’s life has long been shaped by exploration and a commitment to building connections across cultures. His early travels took him to Fiji and Tonga, sailing from the United States to Venezuela, and later to extended stays in South America and Africa. Today, when he’s not leading ASAP, Zach enjoys time with his family, playing music, running, and exploring the outdoors.
